4-H

We've been pleased to have Michael Dillon from Etowah County's 4-H program in our classroom with us this semester! He has been guiding our students through a program centered around water and the importance of its role in Alabama agriculture. Students have been working as "mini-engineers": they have constructed their own bridges, and experimented with density and buoyancy in regards to boats. Check out the pictures!

Read Your Heart Out Day

In honor of Book It!'s "Read Your Heart Out" week, Mitchell Elementary held a read-a-thon, to keep kids interested in READING. The purpose of today is to motivate reading, and just spend time enjoying a good book!
